The rooftop garden at Tokyo’s Shibuya Miyashita Park (MIYASHITA PARK) has transformed into a magical purple wonderland. Let me introduce you to this Instagram-worthy Christmas illumination spot.

How to Get There
Miyashita Park is just a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station. It’s also close to the famous Shibuya Scramble Crossing.
Besides Shibuya Station, it’s about a 10-minute walk from Harajuku, so you can easily combine both areas in your itinerary. On cold days, taking a taxi from Harajuku costs just the basic fare, making it a convenient option.
Rooftop Garden
The Miyashita Park rooftop garden illumination creates a fantastic atmosphere with its tunnel design.
This year’s sponsor is Decorté, Japan’s premium cosmetics brand.
Behind the illumination, you can see Shibuya Scramble Square.
This is the “Door to the Future” installed to celebrate Doraemon’s 50th anniversary. It’s a photo spot where you can freely climb up and take pictures.
The starry night sky, train sounds, and purple illumination create a completely romantic atmosphere.
There’s also a Starbucks where you can enjoy a warm cup of coffee.
Follow the stairs down from the middle of the rooftop. This path connects to Tower Records.
Love Purple Music Night
On the weekend right before Christmas, “Love Purple Music Night” takes place with music and an exciting atmosphere. It’s a small party featuring DJs, live music, and food trucks.
