This guide covers everything you need to know for your visit: the latest admission fees, how to get there, the cafe menu, and tips for catching the perfect sunset and night views.

2. How to Get to Azabudai Hills Observatory (Kamiyacho Station → 34F Sky Room)
The Azabudai Hills observatory is directly connected underground to Exit 5 of Kamiyacho Station on the Hibiya Line, near Roppongi. This makes it easy to reach even on rainy days.
From Roppongi Hills, it's about a 15-minute walk or one stop on the Hibiya Line.
Sky Room is located in the JP Tower. Walk through the Central Garden at ground level to reach the entrance.

Take the escalator from B1 of Mori JP Tower up to the 1st floor, then board the dedicated Sky Room elevator.

All the elevators here go directly to the 34th floor observatory.

Follow the signs after stepping out of the elevator.

Pay for your drink and admission at the cafe counter first, then you're free to explore at your own pace.

If you order alcohol, you must stay on the 34th floor. Coffee and tea orders give you access to the 33rd floor as well.

Grab your coffee and head down to the 33rd floor where the views are.

The stadium-style tiered seating means there's plenty of room even when it gets crowded.

We recommend timing your visit around sunset so you can catch both the sunset glow and Tokyo Tower's night illumination.

3. Sky Room Cafe Menu & How to Order
Pay for your drink and admission on the 34th floor, then you're free to explore at your own pace.
No reservations are needed — just walk in. The 33rd floor also houses the Dining 33 restaurant if you'd like a full meal.
- Coffee or tea orders → Access to the 33F tiered seating area (best views)
- Alcohol orders → 34F seating only
The coffee is an original blend from Little Darling Coffee Roasters in Minami-Aoyama, and the cakes are supplied by Dining 33 Pâtisserie à la Maison.
Considering this is a prime Tokyo Tower viewing spot, the prices are very reasonable. The requirement is one drink per person plus the ¥500 admission fee (free for children 5 and under).

4. Tokyo Tower Views from the Observatory: Sunset to Night
The Azabudai Hills observatory is the closest high-rise viewing spot to Tokyo Tower. From the 33rd floor tiered seating, Tokyo Tower appears right at eye level directly in front of you. On clear days, you can see all the way to Rainbow Bridge and even Mt. Fuji.
📌 Recommended visit time: Arrive 30 minutes to 1 hour before sunset
※ Tokyo sunset times reference (monthly averages)
January 16:50 / April 18:10 / July 19:00 / October 17:15 / December 16:30
Over the course of about one hour, you can witness three distinct scenes: the pre-sunset golden glow → the magic hour right after sunset → Tokyo Tower's illumination lighting up.

Looking west toward the sunset, you can spot Mt. Fuji's silhouette on clear days. Tokyo Tower's landscape lighting turns on right around sunset.

5. Seasonal Visit Tips (Summer Shaved Ice / Winter Christmas)
🌸 Spring (March–April): Clear skies make this the best season for spotting Mt. Fuji. During cherry blossom season, you can enjoy the blooms at Central Green on the way in.
🍧 Summer (July–August): Sky Room offers seasonal limited-edition shaved ice (kakigōri) during summer. With late sunsets around 7 PM, evening visits work perfectly.

🎄 Winter/Christmas (December): The best season to enjoy Tokyo Tower's special Christmas illumination alongside the Azabudai Hills Christmas Market. However, December sees especially frequent closures for private events — always check availability in advance!
